hey everyone -- i didn't expect this to be my first project post on here but it is what it is. following the results of the US presidential election last month and just in general in a challenging and scary time to be trans, i felt compelled to compile some resources for anyone who might need it and to do my best to offer some encouraging words to anyone rightfully freaking out. instead of panicking or being consumed completely by fear, i've been doing my best to form and follow through on an action plan to the best of my ability to secure my gender legally and ensure continued access to my healthcare by any means. in this zine i've detailed some of the steps i've taken up to this point. i will disclaim that the legal stuff in here is specific to the state of illinois -- i did make this zine with the intention of distributing them to my friends and local community and was hesitant to share it here because of the specificity in this area, but i received a request to do so so i did.

my intention is for this upload & this project page to be temporary -- after printing and folding the physical zines, i went through and highlighted headings and important info in blue and pink to add some color and emphasis. since this is just the raw file, it's all black and white. i haven't had a chance to scan in one of the physical copies yet or to actually think about putting together a cool looking page. so for now, it's bare minimum and i've limited visibility from search and browse for these reasons and because of the location specificity.

i had this idea and these words in mind for some time but i threw this zine together in about 3-4 hours hiding after close at the end of my work day in electric zine maker and it is brought to you here by ezm reader.

even if the legal stuff here doesn't apply to you, i hope this zine offers you a sense of solidarity and comfort & that you hear something you need to hear. feel free to print your own if you'd like and distribute them however you want to anyone you feel could benefit from it. my hope above all by making and posting this zine is that it will find people who need it. you are loved and your trans life is worth fighting for.
